CAMP CASEY, Korea – The210th Fires Brigade, 2ndInfantry Division, hosted Dongducheon community leaders at Camp Casey to planta commemorative tree in honor of Arbor Day April 25.
캠프 케이시, 대한민국– 미 제2보병사단 제210포병여단은동두천시 지역사회 지도자들과 함께 캠프 케이시에서 4월 25일 식목일기념 식수를 하였다.
Col.Tracy P. Banister, brigade commander, welcomed Mayor Oh Sea-chang and leadersfrom the Dongducheon Volunteer Center to plant the symbolic tree as a gesture celebratingtheir combined efforts to improve the environment and solidify the strongrelationship between Soldiers and Korean citizens.
여단장인 트레이시 베니스터 대령은 병사들과 한국 시민들사이의 강력한 유대관계를 상징하고 환경을 개선하는두가지 목적을 나타내는 기념식수를 하며 동두천 오세창 시장과 동두천시 자원봉사센터 지도자들을 환영했다.
“We are here to plant the tree, but the tree symbolizesso much more than just a tree,” said Banister. “It symbolizes our relationship andthe growth of our relationship especially over the past two years.
베니스터 대령은 “우리는 여기 나무를 심지만 본 나무는 단순한 나무이상의 의미를 내포하고 있다”며 “우리의 유대관계와 지난 2년동안 특별하게 우리의 유대관계 성장을 의미한다”고 말했다.
TheArbor Day observance is a longstanding tradition that celebrates the enduringpartnership between the military and the city of Dongducheon.
식목일 행사는 군과 동두천시와의 오래 지속된 동반자 관계를 기념하는 오래된 전통이다.
Mayor Oh thanked Banister for hishospitality and continued community support.
오 시장은 베니스터 대령의 환대와 지역사회에 지속적인 지원을 감사했다.
“I hope through the planting of thetree our partnership will grow like the tree will grow,” said Oh.
오 시장은 “나무가 자라는것처럼 우리의 동반자 관계도 자라나기를 바랍니다”고 말했다.
Theevent is a demonstration of the 210th Fires Brigade’s commitment to their communitypartnership and enduring friendship with the citizens of Dongducheon, working togetheras good neighbors to make the community a better place.
본 행사는지역사회를 보다 나은 곳으로 가꾸려는 좋은 이웃으로서 함께 일하면서 지역사회에 동반자 관계와동두천 시민과의 항구한 우정에 대한 제210포병여단의 약속의한 모습이다.
